Deborah E brings her love of Jazz to life in her project, Albumette.
Deborah E is a smooth and sultry summer night on Bourbon Street… Classy with a dash of sass… Proof that the jazz greats have not been sacrificed to processed pop.
Born in Minneapolis, Deborah has been singing since she was three, winning awards and captivating audiences with her memorable voice and flirtatious, sometimes sassy attitude. She faces life’s challenges head-on with a positive outlook, never letting setbacks dampen her spirit. In fact, her blog was once named one of the top 50 positive thinking blogs by a group of psychologists!
Coming from a musical family in both the U.S. and Canada, she inherited her musical energy and expression from her beloved grandmother, a local piano-playing celebrity.
She started songwriting at thirteen. When not playing piano or singing, she watched musicals starring Doris Day and Rosemary Clooney, while frequently flipping the channel to watch Soul Train. Inspired by the genius of Ella Fitzgerald and the blues of B.B. King, she’s developed a unique style, earning titles like the “Crème brûlée” and the “girl with the golden voice.” With a stage presence admired for its elegance and sophistication by a renowned New York film director, she charms her audience with her confident performance, echoing the praise from a talent coordinator who said she “grabs those songs” and “puts true soul, grit, and passion” into her music.
She often hits the charts, remaining #1 in Jazz in the Los Angeles area for a year straight and consistently topping the ReverbNation Charts since October 25, 2010. She’s been nominated for “Artist on the Verge” and was selected as an artist for a pre-Grammy event Gifting Suite.
Deborah captivates many by blending her vibrant personality into her music, always entertaining with her unique “style all her own.”
